How The UltraLight-Q Removes A Tattoo

The UltraLight-Q has been suited with an arsenal of light-based wavelengths that are specifically attracted to tattoo ink. In order to clear the ink form the skin, the laser system creates a collimated energy beam of light. The light will pass through the outer skin layer targeting only the embedded ink. Energy from the laser is rapidly absorbed by the ink causing the pigment to fracture into microscopic particles. Over time, the body’s immune system will clean the particles from the skin causing the tattoo to fade and eventually disappear.

Can any type of tattoo be removed from the skin?

The UltraLight-Q laser system contains specific technical advantage for removing a wide variety of tattoos. These range from: professional to homemade or amateur, as well as traumatic and surgical  tattoos. Your treatment provider will be happy to assess your tattoo(s) and discuess the treatment in a detail with you. Schedule a consultation today for more information.

How many treatments will it take?

Not all body art is created equal; many factors are involved that determine the number of treatments needed, such as:

  • How long the tattoo has been on the skin. Newer tattoos are  more resistant while older tattoos are easier to remove.
  • The depth of ink on the skin.
  • The type of ink on the skin. There are many different types of pigments that could have been used to create the tattoo.
  • Was the tattoo created by a professional artist or an amateur?

Usually professional tattoos will need 6-8 treatments, while amateur tattoos take about 4-5 treatments. The sessions will be spaced 6-8 weeks apart, allowing the body’s immune system to naturally remove the pigment fragments.

What does the treatment feel like?

Most patients report that the treatment sensation for removing a tattoo is similar to getting a tattoo. Other patients say the laser treatment feels like a rubber band snapping against the skin. A numbing cream can be used to make the procedure more comfortable.

How will I take care of my skin after the treatment?

An anti-backterial ointment and ice will need to be applied. If a scab forms, it is vital that the area is never picked or scratched in order to avoid scarring. For optimal results follow any post treatment instructions given to you by the clinican.

How much does the laser tattoo removal cost?

Costs will very depending on the type and size of the tattoo. Schedule a consultation today to start the process of removing the ink from your skin.

Tattoo

A Decorative Body Modification

The art of decorating human skin with permanent or semi-permanent ink has been performed for thousands of years. Today, pop culture has prompted a resurgence in tattoo body art popularity, causing an influx of new tattoo artists into the industry. Modern chemistry has also contributed to the ongoing adventures of body art. With hundreds of new pigmented dyes on the market, tattoos now retain their vibrant colors longer.

About Ink

It is important to know that the FDA does not regulate the ingredients of the pigmented dyes that are utilized by a tattoo artist.  Synthetic pigments and colorants can widely vary from industrial organics to minerals to plastic-based compounds. For example, most black pigments or permanent cosmetic inks will contain carbon or iron oxides and most blue pigments will contain copper salt or cobalt oxides, while other inks contain titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.

The Making Of A Tattoo

The most common method of making a tattoo is with an electrically powered tattoo machine. The machines are fit with a single needle or many needles that can puncture the skin between 80 to 150 times per second. The needle(s) create a puncture wound and deposit tiny dots of insoluble ink into the dermal-epidermal junction of the skin. These dots of dispersed pigment come together to make the tattoo image.

Sandstone Cheveux 810nm Diode Laser

Permanent Hair Reduction

Diode Technology Advances

For years laser technologies have tried to safely destroy the follicle of unwanted body hair for people of most skin colors. The Cheveux Diode laser system by Sandstone Medical Technologies now offers a safe, effective and virtually painless permanent hair reduction treatment. Today, men and women of many races can experience freedom from the daily routine of removing unsightly body hair.

How Laser Hair Removal Works

At all times your body hair is going through three distinct phases: active growth, regression and resting. The Cheveux laser system works by emitting  long wavelengths of focused light-energy. This energy is absorbed directly into the melanin contained within the hair shaft. When the hair is treated during an active growth stage, the light-energy will cause a disabling of the hair re-growth mechanisms. Within seven to ten days after each treatment session, the hairs that were treated during the active growth stage will begin to shed. Over time most patients will notice the treatment area to be more smooth. The Cheveux laser system will help you achieve your ultimate goal of permanent hair reduction.

About “Smooth Flow” 10P Technology

Exclusive to the Cheveux Laser System, “Smooth Flow” brings a level of comfort you will definitely appreciate. Without compromising treatment outcomes, “Smooth Flow” causes the light-energy to gradually be absorbed directly into the hair follicle without causing injury to the surrounding tissue. This offers a huge advantage for darker skin colors.

What do Cheveux treatments feel like?

It depends on what mode of operation the physician chooses for the treatment session. If the exclusive “Smooth Flow” mode is chosen, patients will a feel gentle cause a thermal reconditioning shut-down of the unwanted hair growth. Patients have reported the “Smooth Flow” mode feeling like a hot stone massage. If a slower, higher energy pulse mode is chosen, the patient may feel a slight stinging sensation similar to a rubber band snap on the skin. Treatments with the Cheveux laser system have been designed to be gentle and virtually painless for all patients.

Can any area of the body be treated?

Yes, the Cheveux is designed to comfortably remove hair on all areas of the body, even in the most sensitive places like the bikini area, breasts and tummy.

Are there any side effects?

The treated area may be slightly pink and tender to the touch but there is minimal downtime following the treatment.  Patients should be able to return to daily activities right away.

How many treatments will I need?

The actual number of treatments will depend on the genetic variants of the hair growth cycle of each individual person, but on average, most areas will require 3-6 treatments.

After the treatment how will I need to take care of my skin?

An SPF 30 sunscreen will need to be applied to protect the treated area from any skin discoloration and it is highly recommended that you do not pluck, pull or wax hairs you see in the treated area, as this will initiate a regrowth phase in the hair follicle.

How much do treatments cost?

Costs will vary depending on the size of the area being treated and the amount of treatments required. Schedule a consultation today with your treatment provider for more details!
